My name is Rita Murugi . My parents are Sipporah Wambui and Peter Mbuko. I was born on 31st July 2001 in the village of Kavumbi in Embu Kenya .I am a second child in a family of five children. I was named after my grandmother who usually likes cooking and hence I was named Murugi meaning lover cooker.
I started my primary education in 2005 at St. Michael Kithimu primary school. On my first day to school, our class teacher Mr. Tembo gave me the name Liza in accordance with the custom of giving all school children Christian names. I worked hard in school and completed the primary school and did my KCPE where I attained 386 marks out of 500. I therefore joined St. Mary high school where I started involving myself in games such us volleyball, football and also I joined drama club. After four year course I did my KCSE in year 2019 where I attained an aggregate grade B. Although the high school journey was not very easy I managed to pass my examination. I was once expelled from school for joining in a student protest. This is the most remarkable moment I experienced.
In the year 2020, August I joined Karatina University to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Education Arts The journey was not so smooth since we started learning online classes which I had never used to before. This was as result of COVID 19 pandemic which had spread in most countries. Kenya being one of them tried to cope with the disease by closing all the school hence not providing physical learning. This was one way of preventing the spread of this virus. The pandemic has highly the education system.

FUTURE ENDEAVOURS
when I was in high school, I had so little hope when I thought about my future. However, I am really happy now that I could start to dream about my future in real life and not a day dream any more. Working full time and going to school full time might be a little difficult, but in order to finance my family without giving up on my dreams, motivate myself every day to have enough energy.
My interest in teaching began while I was teaching as a non-licensed teacher for some times. I felt bad for I was not able to provide my student with the best quality education because I was not well trained but given the job due to community needs.
Many children did not have educational opportunities because of life they had to go through. I was once like these children and I was not happy with my life. Therefore, I able to be able to help them make a difference in this children life so that they dream may come true. I would like take a step further to become a good educator for the lifelong learning journey of new generations. After I get my teaching license, I am planning to teacher at an urban secondary school.
My last hope is one day I would to become a useful resource person in my Kavumbi community as a professional in education. Children did not have educational opportunities because of life they had to go through. I was once like these children and I was not happy with my life. Therefore, I hope to be able to help them make a difference in this children life so that their dream may come true as others children in the world.
